6. Web analysis

(a) Google Analytics
Our website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics, which is provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies to help us analyse how you use this website.

The information generated by such a cookie about your use of this website (including your IP address and the URLs of the web pages accessed and the attributes of the website) is transmitted to Google servers in the USA and stored there.

The data obtained is used to optimise our website and advertising measures.

Our website uses the IP anonymisation option provided by Google Analytics. Your IP address is therefore shortened/anonymised by Google as soon as Google receives your IP address. Google will use this information on our behalf to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide us with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data by Google.

You can prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics on this website via our “cookie management tool” (link “cookie settings” at the bottom of the page) (an opt-out cookie is set which prevents the future collection of your data when you visit this website).

(b) Google Maps
We use the “Google Maps” component of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter referred to as “Google”, on our website. By using this service, a distinction can be made as to whether the corresponding input is of human origin or has been misused by automated machine processing.

To our knowledge, the referrer URL, the IP address, the behaviour of website visitors, information about the operating system, browser and length of stay, cookies, display instructions and scripts, the user’s input behaviour and mouse movements in the “reCAPTCHA” checkbox area are transmitted to “Google”.

The IP address transmitted as part of “reCAPTCHA” will not be merged with other Google data unless you are logged into your Google account at the time you use the “reCAPTCHA” plug-in. If you want to prevent this transmission and storage of data about you and your behaviour on our website by “Google”, you must log out of “Google” before you visit our site or use the reCAPTCHA plug-in.

The use of the “reCAPTCHA” service is in accordance with theGoogle terms of use.

(d) Facebook page
When you visit our Facebook page, personal data (documentation of user behaviour) is processed by Facebook using cookies. This information is used to create anonymised, statistical data about page activity and is automatically provided to us (insights). We are jointly responsible with Facebook for this data processing in accordance with Article 26 of the General Data Protection Regulation. In doing so, we rely on our legitimate interests. Without the processing of this data, we would not be able to maintain and optimise our presence on Facebook. You can find more information on theFacebook information page.

(e) Facebook Pixel
On some of our websites, we also use the “Pixel” of Facebook, a service of Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland (hereinafter referred to as “Meta”). This allows the user’s behaviour to be tracked after they have clicked on an ad on Facebook. We use this to evaluate adverts for statistical and market research purposes and to optimise future advertising measures.

Another benefit is to recognise whether and which interactions have been carried out on the website (e.g., download) (see Event Tracking).

This function is also used to present interest-based adverts (“Facebook Ads”) to visitors to this website when they visit the social network Facebook (see Custom Audiences). Facebook Pixel has been implemented on our website for this purpose. A direct connection to the meta servers is established via Facebook Pixel when you visit the website. The fact that you have visited this website is transmitted to the Meta server and Meta assigns this information to your personal Facebook user account on the Facebook service.

No personal data is made available to us in the process. At the same time, the data is also stored and processed by Meta itself, so that it is possible for Meta to connect to the respective Facebook user profile via the Facebook service. Meta may use this data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with the data usage guidelines of the Facebook service. Consent to this is the responsibility of Meta’s Facebook service and cannot be influenced by us. For more information on the collection and use of data by Meta as well as your rights in this regard and options for protecting your privacy, please refer to theprivacy policy of the Meta service Facebook.

(g) Hotjar

We use Hotjar, an analytics tool provided by Hotjar Ltd. (‘Hotjar’) (Level 2, St Julian’s Business Centre, 3, Elia Zammit Street, St Julian’s STJ 1000, Malta, Europe). With Hotjar, it is possible to analyze and evaluate user behavior on our website. This includes, among other things, mouse movements, mouse clicks, keyboard inputs, scroll height, and other interactions.

The information generated by Hotjar about your use of this website may be stored in a pseudonymized user profile. The information is not used to personally identify the visitor to this website, and it is not merged with personal data about the pseudonym’s carrier. Personal data is automatically anonymized and never reaches Hotjar’s servers.

The use of Hotjar is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior in order to optimize both its web offering and its advertising.

You can object to the use of Hotjar by following the settings on Hotjar’s opt-out page (https://www.hotjar.com/legal/compliance/opt-out).

7. Disclosure to third parties
hollu may also pass on your data to service providers for the purposes described here. In order to protect the data, the data transfer takes place in accordance with corresponding data transfer agreements and the service providers are obliged to comply with the provisions of our data protection guidelines.

8. SSL encryption
We use state-of-the-art encryption methods (e.g., SSL) via HTTPS to protect the security of your data during transmission.

9. Data security
All state-of-the-art measures have been taken to ensure the security of personal data against unauthorised access and misuse. The measures are regularly reviewed and adapted to the state of the art.

10. Embedded videos (jwPlayer & YouTube)
hollu.com integrates videos through JWPLAYER from LongTail Ad Solutions, Inc, 8 West 38th Street, 6th Floor, New York, NY 10018, United States. For the associated processing of data, please refer to the JWPLAYER privacy policy (https://www.jwplayer.com/privacy/).

Functions of the YouTube service are available on our website. These functions are offered by YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA (“YouTube”). The embedded video files place cookies on the user’s computer when the website is accessed. If you have deactivated the setting of cookies for the Google advertising programme, you will not have to expect any such cookies when viewing YouTube videos. However, YouTube also stores non-personalised usage information in other cookies. If you want to prevent this, you must block it in your web browser.

11. Share” buttons from social networks
We have integrated “Share” buttons from various providers (hereinafter referred to as “operators”) on hollu.com by implementing the so-called Shariff solution: This prevents social networks from accessing your data before you have clicked on the corresponding button.

With the normal buttons that social networks offer for integration on websites, the browser sends personal data, such as your IP address, to the operators as soon as the page is loaded. The Shariff solution means that your browser only establishes a connection with the operator’s servers once you have clicked the button.

Once the connection has been established, we have no influence on the scope of the data that the operators collect and how they use it. If you are logged in with the operator or log in later, the operator can assign your visit and your “share” to your account with the operator to us. If you do not have a user account with the operator, there is still the possibility that the operator will record and store your IP address or register your visit to our website via cookies.

The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by the operators as well as your rights in this regard and setting options for protecting your privacy can be found in the respective data protection regulations of the operators.

12. Email newsletter
The following information explains the content of our newsletter as well as the subscription, dispatch and statistical evaluation procedure and your rights of objection. By subscribing to our newsletter, you agree to receive it and to the procedures described.

(a) Content of the newsletter
We only send newsletters, emails and other electronic notifications containing information (hereinafter “newsletters”) with the consent of the recipient or with legal authorisation.

(b) Double opt-in and logging
The subscription to our newsletter takes place in a so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that you will receive an email after subscription asking you to confirm your subscription. This confirmation is necessary so that no one can log in with other people’s email addresses.

Newsletter subscriptions are logged in order to be able to prove the subscription process in accordance with legal requirements. This includes storing the time of subscription and confirmation as well as the IP address. Changes to your data stored with MailChimp are also logged.

(c) Use of the mailing service provider “MailChimp”
We only send newsletters, emails and other electronic notifications containing information (hereinafter “newsletters”) with the consent of the recipient or with legal authorisation. Our newsletters contain information about Diakonie’s socio-political work and event tips.

The newsletter is sent using “MailChimp”, a newsletter dispatch platform of the US provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.

The email addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as their other data described in this notice, are stored on MailChimp’s servers in the USA. MailChimp uses this information to send and analyse the newsletter on our behalf. Furthermore, MailChimp may, according to its own information, use this data to optimise or improve its own services, e.g., to technically optimise the sending and presentation of the newsletter or for economic purposes, in order to determine which countries the recipients come from. However, MailChimp does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them itself or pass it on to third parties.

We trust in the reliability and IT and data security of MailChimp. MailChimp is certified under the US-EU data protection agreement “Privacy Shield” and thus undertakes to comply with EU data protection regulations. We have also concluded a data processing agreement with MailChimp. This is an agreement in which MailChimp undertakes to protect the data of our users, to process it on our behalf in accordance with its data protection provisions and, in particular, not to pass it on to third parties. You can view MailChimp’s privacy policyhere.

(d) Subscription data
To subscribe to the newsletter, all you need to do is enter your email address.

Optionally, we ask you to enter your first and last name. This information is only used to personalise the newsletter.

(e) Statistical survey and analyses
The newsletters contain a so-called “web-beacon”, i.e., a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the MailChimp server when the newsletter is opened. As part of this retrieval, technical information, such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and time of retrieval are initially collected. This information is used for the technical improvement of the services based on the technical data or the target groups and their reading behaviour based on their retrieval locations (which can be determined with the help of the IP address) or the access times.

The statistical surveys include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our aim nor that of MailChimp to observe individual users. The analyses rather help us to recognise the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them, or to send different content according to the interests of our users.

(f) Online access and data management
There are cases in which we direct the newsletter recipients to the MailChimp websites. For example, our newsletters contain a link that newsletter recipients can use to access the newsletter online (e.g., in the event of display problems in the email programme). Newsletter recipients can also correct their data, such as their email address, at a later date. Similarly, theprivacy policyof MailChimp is only available on their website.

In this context, we point out that cookies are used on the websites of MailChimp and thus personal data is processed by MailChimp, its partners and service providers used (e.g., Google Analytics). We have no influence on this data collection. Further information can be found in theprivacy policyof MailChimp. We also draw your attention to the options for objecting to the collection of data for advertising purposes on the websiteshttp://www.aboutads.info/choices/andhttp://www.youronlinechoices.com/(for the European area).

(g) Cancellation/revocation
You can cancel the receipt of our newsletter at any time, i.e., revoke your consent. At the same time, your consent to its dispatch via MailChimp and the statistical analyses will expire. A separate cancellation of the dispatch via MailChimp or the statistical analysis is unfortunately not possible.

You will find a link to unsubscribe from the newsletter at the end of each newsletter.

(h) Legal bases of the General Data Protection Regulation
In accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applicable from 25 May 2018, we inform you that the consents to the sending of email addresses are based on Article 7( 1)(a)7GDPR and §7( 2)(3) or (3) UWG (Unfair Competition Act). The use of the mailing service provider MailChimp, the implementation of statistical surveys and analyses as well as the logging of the subscription process are based on our legitimate interests in accordance with Article 6 (1)(f) GDPR. We are interested in using a user-friendly and secure newsletter system that serves both our business interests and the expectations of users.

We would also like to point out that you can object to the future processing of your personal data at any time in accordance with the legal requirements pursuant to Article 21 GDPR.

13. Events
Taking photos of events and publishing the photos on the website and in social media channels as well as in print media for public relations purposes and for the presentation of the activities in order to increase awareness of the event.

You have the right to object to the processing. The objection can be addressed to: info@hollu.com (whereby any other type of objection is also possible).

However, it can be assumed that the interest in taking and using the photos does not excessively interfere with the rights and freedoms of natural persons, especially since they have entered the public space, were informed about the taking and use of the photos in advance and at the event, and care is taken both when taking photos and when publishing them to ensure that no legitimate interests of the persons depicted are violated. If the rights and freedoms of a person depicted are violated for reasons worthy of special consideration, we will take appropriate measures to prevent further processing. It cannot be made unrecognisable in print media that have already been issued. Deletion on the website or in social media channels takes place within the scope of technical possibilities.

The image recipients are departments that must necessarily receive the data as part of the processing of the activity (e.g., IT, other administrative units, marketing). Contractors and processors involved in the processing (production and publication).

The data is made available to the public on the internet and published in social media channels & print media.

The data will not be passed on to recipients who pursue their own purposes with this data. In the case of social media channels, however, the respective social media service may be granted the right to utilise the published data.

14. Your rights
In principle, you have the right to information, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, cancellation and objection. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or that your data protection rights have been violated in any other way, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority.
